Description:
Playa El Combate is located in the municipality of Cabo Rojo, next to a small fishing village baring the same name. One of Puerto Rico’s most popular beaches – sure to get crowded during long weekends and holidays – it is nonetheless a pleasant spot to relax in for most of the year.
Although its name translates to “Battle Beach”, the scenery at El Combate is anything but war-torn. The beach stretches for some three miles of calm, crystal-clear waters with plenty of fisherman, food venders, and pelicans to spot along the way.
El Combate is also a family friendly experience, with free entrance and parking, as well as numerous gazebos perfect for a picnic while taking a break from the sun. Another reason to make the trek to Puerto Rico’s south-western corner and visit the municipality of Cabo Rojo, Playa El Combate is a local favorite well worth your time.
