Located in the Autonomous Municipality of Caguas, a short twenty-minute ride from San Juan, is one of Puerto Rico’s best known fine arts centers, the Centro de Bellas Artes de Caguas.
The center is home to the “Sala de Conciertos Felipe ‘La Voz’ Rodríguez,” one of the largest concert halls in the Caribbean. It seats over 1800 people and regularly schedules plays, concerts, ballet, and other cultural events featuring some of Puerto Rico’s biggest names in entertainment.
A smaller venue known as the “Sala José Luis Moneró” and the “Sala de Convenciones Carmita Jiménez” are also available for social, educational, and professional activities. Other concessions within Bellas Artes include an art gallery, restaurant, and café.
Bellas Artes is part of the municipality’s “Ruta del Corazón Criollo” or Creole Heart Route, which traces Caguas’s history and heritage through several museums, galleries, and other attractions nearby. A worthy addition to the route, the Centro de Bellas Artes de Caguas is committed to promoting and stimulating artistic expression while entertaining thousands of visitors each year.
