Description: The island of Culebra is home to a collection of coves and harbors, due to its unique shape. Dákity is one of many adjoining coves that surround the main harbor of Ensenada Honda, located in the center of Culebra. Protection provided by the island’s gentle, rolling hills and the abundance of coral reefs make this area a secure haven for the numerous ships that moor in these waters. Relatively calm sea conditions and the mangrove-covered, shallow waters off the coast make kayaking a popular activity. A sandbar in the middle of the cove provides a particularly impressive view of the whole area, where visitors can observe sailboats and dinghies crisscross the bay. Watching a sunset or sunrise from that same spot can be a singularly mesmerizing experience, one you’ll not soon forget! |
