Description:

Stretching across the southern municipalities of Guayama and Santa Isabel, the Bosque Estatal de Aguirre is a subtropical dry forest largely populated by various types of mangroves.

The vegetation specific to these types of forests plays an important role in the region, serving as habitat to its numerous animal species and protecting its coasts from inclement weather, among other benefits to the ecosystem.

Administered by the Department of Natural and Environmental Resources, the forest features interpretive trails, camp grounds, gazebos, observation towers, and kayak trails for visitors to enjoy.

The Bosque Estatal de Aguirre is a living laboratory for all to admire and learn about the wonders that can be found in the beautiful island of Puerto Rico.
