Description: Lying on the south coast of Vieques island, just east of the Esperanza waterfront is Sun Bay. This mile-long stretch of sandy beach is ideal for swimming due to its calm, shallow waters. Lined with rich vegetation including palm trees, sea grapes, and almonds, the beach is the only one in Vieques to offer public installations. Administered by the Department of Natural Resources, the area also features a campground with barbecue facilities and several benches along the shaded areas for relaxing. |
